The organization which started as an open chat room of golfers afflicted with PD has become an alternative media home for the latest consolidated research, golf lessons, stretching routines and workout strategies
Golf with Parkinson's (GWP) was founded in 2010, shortly after its founder, a life-long golfer, was diagnosed with Parkinson's. The organization which started as an open chat room of golfers afflicted with PD has become an alternative media home for the latest consolidated research, golf lessons, stretching routines and workout strategies and news for Parkinson's golfers. This website is the world's first Parkinson's-specific place for patients and caregivers to read up to the minute golf news and commentary. GWP also includes schedules for all major pro golf tours and site-specific information on Accessibility (for viewing and transportation) at venues hosting these events.

John Senden is an accomplished Australian professional golfer known for his precision ball-striking and resilience throughout his career. In November 2023, Senden publicly revealed his diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease, a condition he had been managing for approximately 18 months. Despite the challenges, he remains committed to staying active and continues to compete, emphasizing the importance of fitness and a positive mindset in managing the disease

Senden's professional career took off with two Challenge Tour victories in 1998. He secured his PGA Tour card in 2002 after graduating from the 2001 Qualifying School. His first PGA Tour win came at the 2006 John Deere Classic, followed by a notable victory at the 2014 Valspar Championship. He also clinched the 2006 Australian Open, marking a significant achievement on home soil .
In major championships, Senden's best performances include a tie for 4th at the 2007 PGA Championship, a tie for 10th at the 2012 U.S. Open, and a tie for 8th at the 2014 Masters Tournament.
In April 2017, Senden took a hiatus from professional golf after his son, Jacob, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Demonstrating remarkable strength, Jacob recovered and even served as his father's caddie during the 2023 Australian PGA Championship .
